Alistair Spalding - Chief Executive and Artistic Director
Alistair Spalding has been the Chief Executive and Artistic Director of Sadler’s Wells since 2004. He has been responsible for programming at the theatre since February 2000 (when he joined as Director of Programming).
Alistair’s first job in arts management was at the Hawth Theatre, Crawley, where he was a programmer from 1998-1994. Over six years between 1994 and 2000, Alistair was the Head of Dance and Performance at the Southbank Centre in London.
Alistair was also appointed as a national member of the Arts Council of England Board in January 2009. He was a member of the Arts Council England Dance Advisory Panel between 1995 and 2003. He was awarded Le Chevalier des Artes et Lettres by the French Embassy in October 2005.
Laura Stevenson - General Manager
Laura Stevenson has been General Manager at Sadler’s Wells since April 2009. Laura is responsible for the smooth running of Sadler’s Wells’ operational services and ensures that revenue-raising opportunities are maximised in support of the artistic programme.Laura joined Sadler’s Wells from the Southbank Centre where she had been Deputy Director of the Hayward Gallery from 2006 – 2009. In this role she was responsible for the financial and operational delivery of the Gallery’s programme as well as the Hayward Touring programme and the Arts Council Collection.
Prior to this, she worked at Tate for five years in several management and strategy roles – General Manager of the Tate Collection Division, External Relations Manager and Collection Campaign Manager.
Laura began her career as a management consultant with McKinsey and Company.
