Set to a score comprised entirely of melodies by Richard Rodgers, Shall We Dance tells the story of one man's extraordinary quest to find true love. His panoramic voyage transports us from the Orient to the Wild West by way of Russian folk dance, New York jazz and the delirious waltzes of a Viennese ballroom.
Conceived and performed by award-winning dancer and choreographer Adam Cooper, this brand new production thrills and seduces with an exhilarating blend of tap, jazz and classical dance. The show also stars Emma Samms of Dynasty fame, and Adam Cooper's regular co-star Sarah Wildor.
- "Sarah Wildor is a dancer of infinite refinement...Her tender duet with her husband is worth the price of admission alone."
- DAILY TELEGRAPH
- "Adam Cooper's jazz sequences are richly textured, with sly flickers of movement that feel the rhythm as an emotional pulse. His cowboy dances are a sparkling fusion of hoedown and tap. In its variety and sophistication, this is material that would grace the work of a far more experienced choreographer"
- THE GUARDIAN
Brought to life by a full live orchestra, Richard Rodgers' show stopping score includes music from some of the best-loved musicals of our time, including March of the Siamese Children (King and I), Carousel Waltz, Slaughter on 10th Avenue (On Your Toes), Do I Hear a Waltz, My Funny Valentine (Babes in Arms), Love Look Away (Flower Drum Song) and music from Oklahoma!
- "A wonderfully entertaining evening... If it's the fun and escapism of musicals you're after, this show fits the bill perfectly"
- THE STAGE
This lavish production brings together the combined creative talents from the West End of musical director Richard Balcombe (Cats, Phantom of the Opera), designer Paul Farnsworth (Follies, Scrooge), lighting designer Paul Pyant (Lord of the Rings, The Woman in White) and sound designer Matt Mackenzie.
