Ballet Flamenco Eva Yerbabuena — Cuando Yo Era

Archived Show

Famed for her speed, power and dramatic footwork, Eva Yerbabuena, one of the world’s finest flamenco dancers, returns to London with her latest show Cuando Yo Era.

Cuando Yo Era is inspired by Yerbabuena’s family memories of the Spanish Civil War: as a man is about to be executed, fragments of his life flash before his eyes.

Accompanied by three dancers and her talented ensemble of musicians, Eva Yerbabuena also draws parallels between the structure of concentric circles and spinning clay on a wheel. In a visually stunning performance, she gives life to the clay, making it flow in a reflection of her own movement.

This unmissable production promises to be one of the most sophisticated and memorable of an already glittering career.

Eva Yerbabuena has been honoured with numerous awards, including Spain’s National Dance Award and the Gold Medal of Andalusia in 2007 for her contribution to the arts.
