Sadler's Wells' annual three-day festival, Breakin' Convention, returns for its sixth year with some of the world's finest poppers, lockers, house dancers, b-boys and b-girls representing the very best in hip hop dance.

Breakin' Convention is much more than just performances from over 20 of the best hip hop companies in the world – there are plenty of extra events taking place including workshops, film screenings, DJ demos, impromptu foyer freestyle sessions and much more.

 

A small selection of this year's many highlights includes:

Saturday
Compagnie Revolution (France)
Compagnie Revolution's Urban Ballet juxtaposes classical forms with hip hop dance techniques, featuring music from Vivaldi to Franck II Louise.

Sunday
VII Gems Rock Dance Division feat. Ken Swift (USA)
One of the genre's original pioneers and a true hero amongst hip hop dance devotees, performing for the first time in the UK with his company.

Monday
Flying Steps (Germany)
A dance company at the very top of their game - three-times winners of hip hop's coveted "Battle of the Year" and winners of the Red Bull Beat Battle two years in a row, they deliver some of the most technically accomplished and spectacular B Boying you will see anywhere in the world! (Monday ONLY).

The festival will also feature a performance on Sunday from top UK company Flawless, who recently left the judges absolutely gobsmacked when they performed on TV's Britain's Got Talent. Watch their performance here

In true festival style, there is no allocated seating at Breakin' Convention – instead, your wristband will allow you to move between the weekend's range of events as you wish.
