Workshops

The Breakin' Convention workshop programme is a hot house of technique, challenge and creativity. This is your opportunity to hone your technique or try dance for the first time, learning from some of the best hip hop and funk style dancers from across the globe.

Workshops are open to all and you don't have to have a Breakin' Convention ticket to take part.

Future Elements Night

Thursday 3 May, 7.30pm

Future Elements Night is when the kids run things at Breakin' Convention. Witness the future of Hip Hop dance theatre with a line up of work by young people for young people!

The night will feature the screening of the music video created during the Easter Holidays by young people on the Future Elements Project.

Whose line is it anyway? - hip hop theatre style! Live improv jam with beatboxers, dancers, musicians, DJ's and MC's. Time to let the audience run things!

Tony Adigun (UK)
Avant Garde artistic director Tony Adigun presents Breakin' Convention's first international co-commission with WIP Villette. Working with an international cast, Tony uses water as the stimulus, with thrilling effect.

Kloe Dean (UK) - Freedom VS Addiction
A dark and devious solo from the hardest working girl in London street dance.

Theo 'Godson' Oloyade (UK)
After last year's success, Theo returns to the BC stage with a powerful krump solo from this intense and captivating performer.

Simeon Qsyea (Birdgang) (UK) - What does it mean to be Hip Hop?
Using live spoken word and dance for the first time, BirdGang founder Simeon Qsyea what makes a person "hip hop"? Developed in Breakin' Convention's Back to the Lab choreographic development course.


These performances will take place during the break in the main stage programme.
