Danza Contemporánea de Cuba — Triple Bill

Archived Show

Danza Contemporánea de Cuba returns to London following its first hugely popular visit in 2010. In this triple bill audiences will be treated to a rare opportunity to see the stand-out hit of 2010’s programme, George Céspedes’ Mambo 3XXI, as well as Kenneth Kvarnström’s playful Carmen?! and the world premiere of Sombrisa by renowned choreographer Itzik Galili.

In 2010, Mambo 3XXI was nominated for both an Olivier Award and a TMA Award, while critics compared Céspedes to a young Twyla Tharp and declared the piece to be “an exhilarating, large-scale triumph” (The Times).

"Performed in perfect synch with such sexy intensity, you can’t tear your eyes away"
DAILY TELEGRAPH
Award-winning Itzik Galili has more than 60 choreographic works to his name and has created for international companies including Les Ballets de Monte Carlo, Nederlands Dans Theater 2 and Stuttgart Ballet.

With more than 280 premieres under its belt since its formation in 1959, Danza Contemporánea de Cuba remains the country’s flagship modern dance company.
