INXILE (The Trail of Tears) is Alvaro Restrepo´s last work in collaboration with choreographer Marie France Delieuvin. Created in 2011 for La Compañía del Cuerpo de Indias (professional company of El Colegio del Cuerpo/The School of the Body), it is a moving work set to Polish composer Henryk Gorécki's Symphony of Sorrowful Songs, meditating on exodus, displacement and the loss of loved ones.

Gorécki's symphony for soprano and orchestra, speaks of the losses and dramas of war while Colombian painter Leopoldo J Combariza’s abstract backdrop tells of the timeless nature of war and the healing power of spirituality. Above all, INXILE (The Trail of Tears) is a tribute to Colombia’s more than four million refugees.
