Independent Ballet Wales — The Bride of Flowers

Archived Show
Independent Ballet Wales presents a tale of heroism and heartbreak, love and disloyalty from the pages of  the Mabinogi, one of the great classics of European literature.

The Bride of Flowers is the story of Llew, the lion of the steady hand, and his bride Blodeuwedd, made from the blossom of the oak and  the broom of the meadowsweat who was the fairest and most graceful maiden that man ever saw.

Gwydion overtook Blodeuwedd and said to her, “I will not slay thee, for I would do worse than that. I will turn thee into a bird and thou shale ever show thy face in the light of day”.

Magicians, Math and Mathonwy , powerful incantations, transformations and the origin of the owl highlight this beautiful and elemental production

An innovative new ballet of the supernatural featuring vibrant costumes, original and stunning choreography and haunting music.
