Jazz Dance Company — London Studio Centre
The Jazz Dance Company was established in 1994 to provide students at the London Studio Centre with an opportunity to present a short season of evening-long programmes of jazz dance.
The company returns with a vibrant programme of works ranging from the sensuality and lyricism of contemporary jazz to modern street dance and the rhythmic complexity of tap.
Works by leading choreographers from today’s dance and theatre scene are featured, including Lee Alexander, Kevan Allen, Gail Davies, Mavin Khoo, David Leighton and Paul Roberts. The influence of jazz in musical theatre is demonstrated in an exuberant number staged by choreographer Lizzi Gee and musical director, Phil Bateman.
