Coco (1969)
music by André Previn, book by Alan Jay Lerner

In 1969, Lerner (My Fair Lady) and Previn wrote this, the ultimate witty vehicle for Katherine Hepburn (and later Danielle Darrieux and Ginger Rogers), but also for Coco Chanel who over saw the production. Coco is about Chanel’s dilemma as a woman in her 60s trying to maintain her reign as a leading designer in the youthful world of fashion. This production at the Lilian Baylis Studio is a European premiere.
