Archived Show

The Royal Ballet Principal Mara Galeazzi's Gala 2011 is part of a unique initiative, Dancing For The Children, which has this year teamed up with Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity.

Gala for Africa 2011 is a special evening of dance, world premieres, music and song with a star-studded line-up that includes Mara Galeazzi and and Principal dancers of The Royal Ballet including Zenaida Yanowsky and Edward Watson, The Balletboyz, Les Ballet Trockadero de Montecarlo, 4 Poofs & A Piano, plus some surprise guest appearances. The Gala will be presented by Nicky Henson.

Through the universal language of dance, Dancing For The Children pursues humanitarian aims, encouraging far-reaching understanding of the arts, as it provides relief and assistance to victims of illness, disease and disability. Gala 2011 hopes to raise the money that will allow a group of dancers to return to South Africa and continue the work they started in 2007.

At home, money raised from Gala 2011 will also be donated to Great Ormond Street Hospital, helping to make a difference to the lives of patients at the hospital that provides world-class care to hundreds of children every day.

The event promises to be an unforgettable celebration of the power of dance and entertainment to change lives and to communicate across geographical, cultural and social borders.

Tickets start at just £10. VIP tickets are available and include interval reception and after show party. To purchase VIP tickets or for more information, please email specialevents@gosh.org or call 020 7239 3116.
