Archived Show

Northern Ballet Theatre celebrates its 40th anniversary with two programmes that highlight the dramatic, classical and contemporary abilities of this award-winning company.

This Mixed Bill lets you experience the different sides of one of the UK's leading ballet companies. Featuring Gillian Lynne's A Simple Man, which returns by popular demand, plus the dynamic contemporary dance piece Angels in the Architecture, set to Aaron Copland's famous music Appalachian Spring, which looks at the life and beliefs of the Shaker people.

The Mixed Bill is completed by As time goes by, a selection of dances to classic songs, including Always, As time goes by and Sophisticated Swing, performed live by Peter Grant.

"A vividly theatrical and carefully conceived ballet, it emphasises the hot-blooded passions of youth...fluent and lively"
THE DAILY TELEGRAPH
