Quarantine — Entitled
The creators of cult hit Susan & Darren bring their Edinburgh 2011 sell-out show, Entitled, to the Lilian Baylis Studio.
Established in Manchester, theatre company Quarantine makes and tours work internationally and nationally, and has built an impressive reputation with its unique brand of works that use real people rather than actors playing fictional characters to create drama. It often makes theatre that blurs the distinction between spectator and performer too.
With their signature blend of intimacy and honesty, Entitled is about hope, privilege and disappointment. It takes the form of a ‘get in’ and a ‘get out’; the usually hidden choreography of transforming a theatre from an empty space into a stage for a show, and back again. As is typical of Quarantine’s output, the piece will blur the lines between spectator and performer with a cast that includes working technicians.
Quarantine are best known for work that confronts the here and now - high art and the every day collide in theatre that promises both laughter, and of course, dancing.
