Now the full Company of 70 dancers bring John Cranko's acclaimed Romeo and Juliet to London. Since its premiere in 1962, Cranko's Romeo and Juliet has remained among the best-loved ballet adaptations of Shakespeare's great drama of star-crossed love.
The production combines Prokofiev's beautiful score with lavish renaissance costumes and a breathtaking set which conjures up sun-baked Verona. A showcase for classical ballet at the highest level, this production is known for its dazzling ‘Stuttgart lifts’ – fiendishly difficult to execute, but dazzling to watch.
