LA Dance Project — Mixed Bill
L.A. Dance Project is an artist collective founded in 2012 by renowned choreographer and dancer Benjamin Millepied with composer Nico Muhly, art consultant Matthieu Humery and founding producer Charles Fabius.
A multi award-winning dancer and former principal dancer at New York City Ballet, Millepied is also a renowned choreographer who has created works for some of the worlds best-known dance companies and artists, including New York City Ballet, Paris Opera Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, Mikhail Baryshnikov, Geneva Opera Ballet, Lyon Opera Ballet and Pennsylvania Ballet. Having choreographed and starred in Darren Aronofskys award-winning feature film Black Swan, he will take up the post of Director of Dance at the Paris Opera Ballet starting in September 2014.

L.A. Dance Projects goal is to create new work and to revive seminal collaborations from influential dance makers. New works by the company endeavour to be multidisciplinary collaborations, working with visual artists, musicians, designers, directors and composers.
In this programme, they present a trio of works by. Benjamin Millepieds Reflections enjoyed a rapturous reception at its world premiere in France earlier this year, and features a live score, composed by the Pulitzer Prize-winning David Lang.
New work from star of the New York City Ballet Justin Peck will be accompanied by new music from Bryce Dessner, the composer and guitarist known for his work in the acclaimed rock band The National.
Finally, the bill is completed by William Forsythes beautiful piece for five dancers, Quintett.
