About Gillie Kleiman

Gillie Kleiman (co-choreographer/performer) is an artist. From Gillie’s practice of dance and choreography emerge artworks that manifest as performances, texts, and events, presented in contexts associated with dance, theatre, live art and experimental performance, throughout the UK and across Europe. Gillie is one a group of artists who run BELLYFLOP Magazine, and moonlights as an Artistic Assessor for Arts Council England. She received the danceWEB scholarships in 2008 and 2013, and was an Artsadmin’s Artists’ Bursary holder in 2013/4. She took part in Sadler’s Wells Summer University (2011-2014) directed by Jonathan Burrows. She is currently a doctoral researcher at University of Roehampton.

About Keith Hennessy

Keith Hennessy is an internationally sought after performer, choreographer, teacher and activist. Born in Sudbury Canada, he lives in San Francisco and tours internationally. His interdisciplinary research engages improvisation, ritual and public action as tools for investigating political realities. Hennessy directs CIRCO ZERO, and was a member of the collaborative performance companies: Contraband (with Sara Shelton Mann), CORE, and Cahin-caha, cirque bâtard (with Gulko). Recent awards include the USA Kjenner Fellowship (2012), a NY Bessie (2009), two Isadora Duncan Awards (2009), and a Goldie (2007). Recent works include Turbulence (a dance about the economy), Almost a duet with Jassem Hindi, and Bear/Skin an anti-modernist dance rite. Recent teaching includes Ponderosa (Germany), Impulstanz (Vienna), AEx-Corps (Dakar), UBC (Kelowna), UC Davis, Texas Women's University, and La Alternativa (SF). Hennessy has an MFA in Choreography and is a PhD candidate in Performance Studies at UC Davis. www.circozero.org
