HeForShe gender equality debate
Created by UN Women, the HeForShe solidarity movement for gender equality offers a platform on which men and boys can engage and become change agents towards the achievement of gender equality. To mark the first HeForShe Arts Week London, Sadler’s Wells is hosting a panel debate to discuss the role of the arts in promoting greater gender equality and how this benefits all of society.
Speakers include Laura Haynes, Chair of UN Women UK, Rufus Norris, Artistic Director of the National Theatre, Tamara Rojo, Lead Principal and Artistic Director of English National Ballet, and Alistair Spalding, Sadler’s Wells’ Artistic Director and Chief Executive. The debate is chaired by Lucy Kerbel, Director of Tonic Theatre, an organisation focused on supporting the arts and creative industries in achieving greater gender equality in their workforce and the work they present.
Join us for this special event to hear the speakers, share your views and ask questions. The event is free, but due to limited availability seats must be reserved. To register your interest in attending, email HeForShe@sadlerswells.com. Places are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
