Sadler’s Wells is a world-leading dance house, with a spirit of creative innovation and artistic collaboration at its heart.

It is a place where artists come together to create dance and people of all ages and backgrounds come to experience it.

We believe the future of the art form relies on nurturing talented artists at every stage of their career and we do this through a number of partnerships and artist development initiatives.

Here are the different ways in which we support artists and their work:

Associate Artists

Sadler's Wells’ Associate Artists are key to our artistic vision and the most exciting talents working in dance today. Their work represents a core part of our programme each season.

Resident Companies

Some companies have offices at our north London base, enabling us to support them in additional ways.

Associate Companies

We appointed English National Ballet as Associate Company at Sadler’s Wells in November 2014.

International Associate Companies

Rosas and Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch were appointed International Associate Companies at Sadler's Wells in November 2015, in recognition of our longstanding relationship with them. In November 2016, they were joined by Carlos Acosta’s Acosta Danza. Sadler's Wells is the companies' UK home.

New Wave Associates

The New Wave Associates initiative supports artists in the early stages of their career. Alongside commissions of new work and the opportunity to premiere it on our stage, each artist is offered a tailored package of support, including research time, technical support and professional and artistic guidance.

Summer University

Established in 2010, Sadler's Wells’ Summer University supports UK-based dance makers in expanding their perspective on dance and furthering their practice, through participation in a four-year project.
