Associate Artists

Sadler’s Wells supports 16 Associate Artists. They represent the most exciting talent working in dance today and are at the heart of our artistic vision. The appointment of the first group of Associate Artists by Artistic Director and Chief Executive Alistair Spalding in 2005 marked Sadler's Wells’ transition from receiving to producing house, and greatly contributed to establish the theatre as the world-leading, dynamic and inclusive dance house it is today.

We support our Associate Artists by commissioning new work from them and providing access to Sadler’s Wells’ resources, such as rehearsal studios, technical expertise, office space and a creative base. See a list of our Associate Artists here.

To celebrate the contribution our Associate Artists have made to Sadler’s Wells since the theatre was rebuilt, in 2013 we commissioned black and white photographic portraits of each of them. View the images and find out more about our 15th anniversary – Associate Artists project.
