Wild Card is a Sadler’s Wells initiative that gives artists the opportunity to present the work of their choice. It aims to bring fresh ideas to the stage by giving young creators a platform to share the work they admire.

Leicester based producer Anand Bhatt presents Cooperire, a mixed bill of work that will demonstrate his enthusiasm for different genres of dance whilst also showcasing his love of good movement, from Michael Jackson to classical kathak.

Cooperire features the world premiere of Glasshouses, a work by Australian dancer and choreographer Lewis Major with a specially commissioned score by Joel Harries. The evening also includes the UK premiere of Portland, a solo choreographed by Marcos Morau for Lali Ayguadé (2010 Critics Circle, Outstanding Female Performance Nominee). Compered by the spoken word artist John Berkavitch, the evening features a performance of We’re All Made of Stories by contemporary dancer Karima El Amrani and the work Appel by Marso Riviere.

There will also be a special performance in the café before the main show featuring Natalia Hildner in which the space will be transformed for the evening into a kathak mehfil.
