WORLD PREMIERE
Sadler’s Wells New Wave Associate Hetain Patel is a visual artist whose work for the stage has been attracting growing acclaim. His practice crosses a number of art forms with the body and identity as core concerns. Major international institutions have shown his work including Tate Modern and the Southbank Centre, Sydney Festival, Bodhi Art New York, Ullens Centre for Contemporary Arts in China and Chaterjee and Lal in Mumbai.
Following the success of his performance works TEN and Be Like Water, Hetain Patel takes to the stage as a solo performer, with a personal and humorous take on identity shape-shifting.
Inspired by American movie culture and homegrown TV programmes, Patel looks at the multiple personas that we all inhabit in our day-to-day lives. Through a seamless synthesis of vocal and physical imitations, he revisits character impressions from his playground days: see Agent Smith from the Matrix argue with Sir David Attenborough whilst Eddie Murphy dances alongside Superman in this highly-anticipated world premiere.
