The Genée International Ballet Competition is the flagship event of the Royal Academy of Dance and is one of the most prestigious ballet competitions in the world, running for 84 years.

This year the competition returns to London. Since 1931, the Genée has attracted some of the finest young dancers trained in the RAD syllabus from around the globe.

Candidates receive a unique opportunity to work with renowned choreographers and teachers for five days, before performing at the Semi-finals, where a panel of judges selects those to go through to the Final to compete for the coveted bronze, silver and gold medals. This year the Semi-finals will be held at Stratford Circus Arts Centre on 16 & 17 September.

The Final will be judged by Dame Monica Mason DBE, Former Director of The Royal Ballet, David Bintley CBE, Director of Birmingham Royal Ballet and David Nixon OBE, Artistic Director of Northern Ballet.
