Sadler's Wells
Rosebery Avenue, London, EC1R
Celebrating its 25th anniversary, Candoco Dance Company presents a double bill, following its acclaimed restaging of Jérôme Bel’s The Show Must Go On last year.
Alexander Whitley, a classically trained dancer and Sadler’s Wells New Wave Associate, has become known for his strikingly physical and virtuosic choreography. In Beheld, seven dancers explore the possibilities and constraints of the space to consider how we look and what we see, set to a mesmerising score by German composer Nils Frahm, reworked by Rutger Zuydervelt.
- "Candoco is the company for which choreographers reserve their wildest and often most inventive work"
- THE OBSERVER
In the evening's second work, Set and Reset/Reset, Candoco Dance Company restage the landmark contemporary dance piece, Set and Reset, by Trisha Brown. This ground-breaking production is performed to a contagious score by renowned multi-media artist Laurie Anderson.
The New Wave Associate Programme is supported by the Esmée Fairbairn Foundation
