Legendary flamenco guitarist Paco Peña returns with a very personal new piece, exploring through music and song the emotional, physical and cultural impact of the Spanish Civil War on his country’s history. Patrias is inspired by one its most famous casualties: poet, artist, playwright and musician Federico Garcia Lorca.

★★★★ "Inspired by one genius and brought to life by the music of another. Truly beautiful and truly tragic"

The Spanish word ‘patria’ means: motherland, your people, your culture, it evokes pride in being who you are and where you are from.

With live music performed by the “breathtakingly beautiful” (Daily Telegraph) guitar play of Peña and his company of six musicians, Patrias takes the audience on a poignant journey through the experiences of the Spanish people during the three-year conflict.

Celebrated for his lightning footwork and sublime sensual movement, principal dancer and London Flamenco Festival star Ángel Múñoz will be joined on stage by Mayte Bayo.

“Mr Peña is a virtuoso, capable of dazzling an audience beyond the frets of mortal man”
