Join us for a day of free performances, workshops and entertainment as we join our East Bank partners – BBC, UAL’S London College of Fashion, UCL and the V&A in partnership with the Smithsonian Institution – for The Great Get Together, the nationwide initiative celebrating kindness and respect.

Experience the vibrancy and vitality of Phoenix Dance Theatre, who perform an excerpt from Sharon Watson’s award-winning Windrush: Movement of the People, the first contemporary dance piece to commemorate the arrival of SS Empire Windrush. Joining them on the day, Grounded Movement perform a signature medley of dances from Lindy Hop to Hip Hop, followed by a flash mob dance workshop.

Over on our Breakin’ Convention stage, expect a jam-packed day of rap, spoken word and dance performed by young artists who have been developing their work with Breakin’ Convention throughout the year. You can also catch dance performances from Elementz Ent and Rain Crew, as well as musician Capo Lee performing his new project Why Not 3. The stage will be buzzing all day as Reprezent radio’s DJ Sandra Omari and Capital Xtra DJ Shayna Marie represent women in music, playing a selection of hip hop, Afrobeats and more. Over on the mainstage, Breakin' Convention bring you The Archetype, the UK Dance Awards 2018 Dance Group of the Year, best-known for their unique methodology, energy and slick moves.

All this, plus performances from Sadler’s Wells’ Associate Schools, Family Fridays workshops graffiti workshops and dance workshops for all the family, so you can participate and enjoy our next generation of artists.

The Great Get Together was launched in 2017 by the Jo Cox Foundation to celebrate community and commonality.
