Nahid Siddiqui is one of Europe’s leading kathak dancers.
Infusing deep, personal artistry into the interpretation of the music and text, Stories of Thumris unfolds itself through the lens of a human state of being.
Siddiqui utilises the style’s fluid spins, intricate hand gestures, and periods of calm, punctuating them with bursts of densely mathematical footwork. Siddiqui employs her formidable skill to explore thumri, a sensuous style from the North of India. The evening features music provided by live guitar and tabla.
