8 Minutes is available to watch on the Sadler's Wells Facebook page from Friday 8 May - at 7.30pm BST. It will be made available to view for seven days on Facebook and YouTube.

It takes just eight minutes for sunlight to travel 93 million miles to Earth. In this unique collaboration with scientists from STFC RAL Space, choreographer Alexander Whitley takes inspiration from solar science research and its stunning imagery to illuminate our relationship with the sun.

Immersing viewers in a rich environment of dance, music and visuals, 8 Minutes carries you on a breath-taking journey through the universe, revealing the beauty and drama of the star that gives us life.

This critically acclaimed production, which premiered at Sadler’s Wells in 2017, features a specially created score by the electroacoustic music innovator Daniel Wohl and a backdrop of captivating imagery from BAFTA award-winning visual artist Tal Rosner.

★★★★ "Whitley’s choreography is sinuous, sensuous and elemental"
★★★★ "Driven by the mix of celestial and industrial music in Daniel Wohl’s score, Rosner’s artwork creates its own kind of space travel."
