In an exciting follow up to Dust and Akram Khan's Giselle, the mould-breaking collaboration between the kathak and contemporary dance artist Akram Khan and Sadler's Wells Associate Company English National Ballet continues. Creature is an unearthly tale of exploitation and human frontiers inspired by Georg Büchner's expressionist classic Woyzeck, with shadows of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein.
To draw on the themes of ambition, endeavour and morality, Khan reunites with Oscar-winning designer Tim Yip, composer and sound designer Vincenzo Lamagna and dramaturge Ruth Little, as well as fellow Associate Artist Michael Hulls, to take on the tale of the outsider, and the search for belonging. .
