Rambert School and The Juilliard School come together in a brand-new collaboration.
Marking the culmination of a year-long collaboration with Studio Wayne McGregor, the Rambert School, London, will join forces with The Juilliard School, New York, to present a full-length world premiere. The project unites students from both institutions in the creation of new work choreographed by Sir Wayne McGregor, utilising his radical choreographic thinking tools – Mind and Movement (MAM) and the Google Arts and Culture machine learning collaboration AISOMA.
This transatlantic partnership aims to inspire, develop, and empower the next generation of exceptional dance artists exploring the boundaries of dance creativity.

What is Mind and Movement and AISOMA?
Mind and Movement is a resource created by Studio Wayne McGregor that enhances the creation of new and original dance movement through the development of imagination skills. The resource is based on choreographic thinking tools developed originally in the rehearsal studio. These tools place an emphasis on actively exploring and reflecting on relationships between the use of imagery and movement creation.
Powered by machine learning, AISOMA was developed by Studio Wayne McGregor in collaboration with the Google Arts and Culture Lab. The tool generates original movement inspired by footage from Wayne McGregor’s 25-year archive, presenting this as a creative prompt for McGregor’s own creative process and a departure point for collaborators to respond.
At Studio Wayne McGregor, we are deeply committed to nurturing the next generation of dance artists. This unique collaboration between Rambert School and The Juilliard School aligns perfectly with our mission to push the boundaries of creativity while investing in the growth of exceptional young dancers.
