Back to the Lab invites you to witness and influence the development of four brand-new works by exciting hip hop theatre artists: Anna Watanabe – Japan, UK, Jordan Franklin (J-Funk) – UK, Kurtis Agyekum (Kurtyswift) – UK, and Nia Torres – Spain.

This showcase is the culmination of a two-week choreographic intensive, where artists have had the opportunity to test, learn and try new approaches to making work under the expert guidance of Breakin’ Convention’s faculty of celebrated mentors. The mentors this year include Anthony Ekundayo Lennon, Jade Hackett, and Sadé Alleyne.

Facilitated by Artistic Director Jonzi D, the audience is encouraged to share their thoughts and reflections on the works they’ve seen, to help guide the artists as they hone their craft. This is your chance to shape the future of hip hop theatre, don’t miss out!
