Eva Recacha & Alberto Ruiz Soler Artist-Led Session
Sound Dramaturgy
+ £4.00 transaction fee
Alberto and Eva are currently investigating making work accessible for blind and partially sighted (BPS) audiences.
This exploration is part of their creative journey towards the making of their new show, SUR, a piece about friendship and migration currently in R&D stage. To make the work accessible, they have been exploring and developing a new way of working with sound and text, which they have named Sound Dramaturgy. As part of their investigation into Sound Dramaturgy and with the principle of making work that is accessible to BPS by nature, Alberto and Eva have devised an Artist Led workshop to share, explore and test with other artists this concept.
The workshop is open to everyone and the studio is wheelchair accessible. The workshop will include a warm up, movement, sound and text games, physical and aural tasks investigating sound dramaturgy, an audio description task, and group discussions.
This will be a hybrid session, taking place in person and online. If you would prefer to attend this workshop via Zoom, please click here for further information and to book.

Sound artist Alberto Ruiz Soler and choreographer Eva Recacha have collaborated for over a decade creating dance stage works where the relationship between movement, sound and text has been at the core of the choreographic fabric, both structurally and emotionally. Together, they have developed a distinct dramaturgical style, challenging and probing hierarchies between physical, aural and semantic elements, giving rise to a complex intertwined aesthetic where no one element rules or dictates, instead sharing, supporting, challenging each other to build the structure of the work. Eva and Alberto’s work has been commissioned and presented by Sadler’s Wells, The Place and South East Dance in the UK, and they were a Twenty23 Aerowaves company with their piece Because I Can (co-created with iconic UK performer Lauren Potter).
