Hofesh Shechter Company Theatre of Dreams
+ £4.00 building maintenance fee
Take a wild headfirst dive into the Theatre of Dreams.
Returning to Sadler’s Wells, this mesmerising work delves deep into the world of fantasy and the subconscious, revealing fears, hopes, desires and a web of emotions. Emotions that not only possess our dreaming minds but also our waking thoughts. From this uncontrollable wave of chaotic emotions and surreal events emerges a strange sense of clarity and reality.
The dancers’ bodies will bring to life on stage this interplay between poetry and reality, accompanied by live musicians and Shechter’s trademark cinematic sound-score. Sadler’s Wells Assosciate Artist Hofesh Shechter reunites with lighting designer, Tom Visser, to create a powerful, sculptured space to this dreamscape.

★★★★★ THEATRE WEEKLY
It’s astonishingly beautiful, constantly inventive… a sense of discovery, of the capacity of the human spirit to revive, to fantasise and to dance.
★★★★ THE OBSERVER
A symbiosis of hip-hop, folk dance and nightclub vibes… Poetic and joyful, this Theatre of Dreams surprises from start to finish, and above all is full of emotion and energy.
L’ESSENTIART
Tom Visser’s gloriously dusty lighting appears so thick you can almost taste it, dunking the stage in hazy crimson and amber.
