History turns 100.
Contemporary dance evolves through a mixed bill presented by the Martha Graham Dance Company. Originated by its legendary namesake, the company presents a repertoire that transformed the genre throughout the 20th century, brought into present day with Artistic Director Janet Eilber at the helm.
The company celebrates its centenary with a mixed bill of works, choreographed by Graham, as well as acclaimed artists Baye & Asa, Xin Ying, and Jamar Roberts.

Martha Graham and her Company have expanded the lexicon of contemporary dance, evolving the artform with works rooted in social, political and psychological subjects of the day. Having produced a repertoire of 181 works, the Company remains fertile ground for experimentation among the leading artists of the 20th and 21st century, including Merce Cunningham, Anna Sokolow, Erick Hawkins, Mikhail Baryshnikov, Claire Bloom, Margot Fonteyn, Liza Minnelli, Rudolf Nureyev, Maya Plisetskaya, and Kathleen Turner. Graham’s groundbreaking techniques and signature style have earned the Company acclaim from audiences in over 50 countries globally.

Did you know…
FKA Twigs is among the latest artists to have trained with the Martha Graham School. The singer and classically trained dancer debuted at the Company’s 98th season gala in 2024, performing Graham’s 1932 solo Satyric Festival Song.
