Two dancers dressed in blue move with abandon

Let NDCWales guide you through a desperately beautiful evening of dance.

Presenting a breathtaking double bill, the Welsh contemporary company restages Theo Clinkard’s much loved Ordinary Courage alongside a new work from the Olivier nominated Alesandra Seutin.

When words fall short, movement and touch can ground us.

Originally made for Clinkard’s own company in 2012, Ordinary Courage is a sincere reflection on grief, loss and the quiet strength of human connection. Set to a haunting score that incorporates Scarlatti and Bach, this piece is warm, deeply moving and cathartic. It will linger with you long after the movement settles.

Bodies charged with emotion coil like springs ready to release. Together we move forward. Are we running away or towards something new?

Sadler’s Wells Associate Artist Seutin makes a visceral new work with NDCWales rooted in the human urge to run. Set to a driving soundtrack that includes traditional Welsh instruments and ancestral voices, the athletic, commanding dance will invigorate the senses, cleanse the soul and leave you breathless.

Under the new leadership of Artistic Director Bakani Pick-Up, don’t miss these distinct artistic works performed by Wales’ finest dancers.

THE OBSERVER

Like much of Clinkard’s work, Ordinary Courage refuses to be dainty; it throws its sweat at you and dares you to reject it.
