In a ruined castle, a woman with sculpted eighteenth-century curls, wearing a tight bodice, red stockings and ballet shoes, springs into the arms of a man in ballet tights with a muscled bare chest. He looks out at us with shadowed eyes; she gazes at him, enchanted.

Throw caution to the wind. Be led into temptation. Casanova is back.

Consumed by his desires, Casanova lived every minute in a whirlwind of scandal and decadence. But behind the mask, there was more to the man. Delve inside the heart and mind of one of the most notorious figures in history, in a story so sensational you won’t believe it’s real.

Following a sell-out run in 2017, Northern Ballet brings Casanova back to the Sadler’s Wells stage this spring. Set in the decadent 18th century with stunning costumes and sets designed by Christopher Oram (Frozen, Broadway and West End) and Kerry Muzzey’s cinematic score played live by Northern Ballet Sinfonia, the return of Casanova is not to be missed.
