(In) Company Morning classes are curated by Lorea Burge as part of their research within the Rose Choreographic School.
Lorea invites artists that inspire and complement their practice to facilitate a class at the start of their working studio day. These classes will range across different artistic practices and mediums and are open to experienced practitioners to join in for free.
These sessions will be hosted by Temitope Ajose. Temitope London based Dance artists who is interested in myth, psychology and magic. Often playing between the sacred and absurd, Temitope’s process is intuitive, idiosyncratic and very human.
Temitope has staged works at venues such as The Royal Opera House, The Place, DanceXchange, RichMix, Dancebase and the Soho Joyce (New York).As a dancer Temitope has worked with Punchdrunk, Director Carrie Cracknell at The Gate Theatre and The National, Theo Clinkard, Protein Dance Company, Candoco, Lea Anderson, Frauke Requardt and David Rosenberg, Joe Moran, Seke Chimutengwende, and Lost Dog to name a few. She performs for visual artists and makers, Florence Peake, Adelaide Cioni,Sam Williams and Megan Rooney.
This workshop will draw from Temi’s experience and interest in dream work from a Jungian perspective. She will lead a session exploring the imaginary, liminal, absurd, and ambiguous time frame that dream experiences operate within, from an embodied sense. Using voice, text and body to relocate us from the conscious choices to the unconscious field. Participants are invited to bring a recent dream!
Lorea Burge is one of 13 artists in the current cohort for the Rose Choreographic School, which is based in Sadler’s Wells East. The artists are supported over two years as they work on research projects exploring what choreography is and can be.
