Lulu Wang Artist-Led Session [online]
BODY LAB
+ £4.00 transaction fee
BODY LAB is an artist-led movement and performance workshop exploring the body as material, archive and site of collaboration.
Led by interdisciplinary artist Lulu Wang, participants will work through improvisation, choreographic scores and collective exercises to investigate how movement can communicate human experiences, memories and different perceptions of time.
The session moves between individual exploration and collaborative composition, using repetition, duration, spatial awareness, gesture, image-making and encounters with other bodies. Through these processes, participants will explore how individual rhythms can meet, interrupt and respond to one another, creating a shared sense of time through the body. Participants will shift between the roles of performer, observer and composer, considering how attention and perspective can transform a live situation.
BODY LAB creates an open space for experimentation, play and embodied thinking. Participants are encouraged to bring their own physical histories, identities and ways of moving into the room, developing new approaches to performance-making through listening, risk-taking and collective exchange.
No formal dance or performance experience is required.
This is an online session taking place via Zoom. If you would prefer to attend this workshop in person, please click here for further information and to book.
