Who shaped me? Where do I belong? What do I carry with me? And who might I still become?

Who am I?

Where we come from. Where we live. The traditions we inherit. The people and places that shape us. And who we choose to become.

Khoj, meaning “search”, is a bold new dance work from Pagrav Dance Company exploring identity, migration and cultural hybridity.

Khoj considers what happens when different cultures, histories and experiences exist within us at the same time. How much of our identity is inherited? How much do we create for ourselves? And what does it mean to belong when home might be more than one place?

At once personal and political, Khoj brings together the masterful storytelling of Kathak with cinematic staging and transformative design. Pagrav takes those foundations and brings them into conversation with contemporary experiences, creating work that honours the history of the form while asking what it can say about our lives today.

You don’t need to know Kathak – or dance – to experience Khoj. Its questions belong to all of us.
