Join us weekly for joyful and energising sessions that celebrate expressive storytelling and creative movement.
This class blends vibrant Bollywood routines with the elegance of Classical Indian dance and the dynamic rhythms of Folk traditions.
Drawing inspiration from We Caliban by Shobana Jeyasingh Dance, these sessions will explore how to craft contemporary choreography using classical Indian dance vocabulary.
About the Artist
Showmi Das is a freelance South Asian dance practitioner, trained in the Classical Kathak style and Bengali Folk Dance. Her approach brings cultural richness and contemporary creativity to every class.
Performance Opportunity
These sessions will culminate in a performance on the Dance Floor during the Get Into Dance Festival and We Caliban in April 2026.

Do I need any existing dance experience?
No experience needed. Whether you’re a seasoned dancer or just looking to try something new, our friendly instructors will guide you every step of the way.
The classes are designed for you to enjoy a welcoming atmosphere where everyone is encouraged to let loose and have fun.
Where are the classes?
The classes are located on The Dance Floor at Sadler’s Wells East, a public performance space in the venue’s light filled foyer.

Are the classes free?
These classes are free to attend. You’ll be asked to register your details on arrival at the Welcome Desk. No pre-booking is available, so we recommend arriving early to avoid missing out as spaces are limited.
What should I bring?
Bring comfortable clothing, a bottle of water and your enthusiasm!
What are the facilities at the venue?
Toilets are available on level 0, including accessible and gender-neutral toilets.
What ages are these workshops suitable for?
These workshops are designed for adults over the age of 18.
Is there food and drink available at the venue?
There is a water fountain for you to fill up your drink bottle.
Food and drink will be available to purchase from The Well and the Park Kitchen and Bar in the foyer.
