Olive Hardy Artist-Led Session [online]

Olive Hardy workshop

A Zoom workshop for professional dancers to explore an improvisational solo practice in a shared online space.

Olive’s choreographic practice stems from an interest in process and its ability to function as performance, working with improvisation, instruction, and decision-making. She uses improvisation as a mode of research to move through and into uncertainty, abandonment, grounding, and rest. Her work explores our collective relationships to control and celebrates our messy attempts to organise.

In this workshop Olive invites you to engage in your own movement language to undertake structured improvisations that engages embodiment, imagination, bodily awareness, and the experiential. This workshop focusses on solo practice, acknowledging that we are carving out time for ourselves in a shared space online. Olive will support you to tune into the physical context that we find ourselves in.

This workshop is open to anyone interested in improvisation, sensation, awareness, and choreography.

Olive is leading an in-person version of this session at Sadler’s Wells from 10:00-12:00 on Tuesday 12 March for those that would prefer to attend in person. Please click here for further information and to book.

Part of Sadler’s Wells Artist Development Programme: Artist-Led Sessions. You can find out more about the selection process for this programme online here.
