Stories that move us
From cult classics to cultural icons, and bold new voices to much-loved returns, our new season brings stories to life through the power of dance.
Step back into the time-bending world of Kidd Pivot’s Olivier Award-winning Assembly Hall, where the mundane meets myth, or travel to the Swingin’ Sixties as Matthew Bourne’s Play Without Words returns to our stages after more than a decade. Beloved stories spring from page to stage as Phoenix Dance Theatre reimagines an iconic coming-of-age story in Sincerely, The Breakfast Club, and balletLORENT puts a most tempting twist on a familiar fairytale with Hansel & Gretel and the Witch.
Celebrate the places that shape us and the people who inspire us. Breakin’ Convention brings the electric energy of homegrown and global talent with the next International Festival of Hip Hop Theatre, while the Five Dances Festival showcases the vast span of the international dance community through works by its most exciting choreographers. Dive into powerful explorations of heritage, identity, and belonging through Pagrav Dance Company’s Khoj and Ceci n’est pas Noire: Act II by Alesandra Seutin / KVS. For those seeking dance in its most mature, intimate forms, Boris Charmatz presents Muette, while the Xenia Aidonopoulou’s Landscapes is a family-friendly adventure sure to inspire the next generation of dance lovers.
From the personal to the universal, these are stories that connect us across generations, cultures, and communities. Whatever moves you, there’s a story waiting to be discovered. Find your next favourite show this season at Sadler’s Wells.
